The political atmosphere in the state has intensified following the tragic killing. On Thursday evening, Abhishek Ghosalkar, a prominent figure within the Uddhav Thackeray faction, was targeted in a shooting incident in the Dahisar area of Mumbai, sustaining three gunshot wounds.
Despite being rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, Abhishek Ghosalkar succumbed to his injuries. The assailant responsible for the attack subsequently took his own life. Ghosalkar, a former corporator, held a significant position within the Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena.
In response to his murder, Sanjay Raut has called for the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Numerous leaders from opposition parties have raised concerns about the incident, sharing the video footage on social media platforms to highlight the gravity of the situation.
Sanjay Raut described the footage of the attack on Abhishek Ghosalkar as deeply disturbing. Anand Dubey, a spokesperson, criticized the NDA government, alleging a complete breakdown of law and order and vowing to challenge the current administration.
