Bodh Gaya, located in the Indian state of Bihar, is an important religious and tourist destination, primarily known as the place where Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment. Some of the major tourist places in and around Bodhgaya are:

Mahabodhi Temple Complex:

This is the main attraction of Bodhgaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mahabodhi Temple is the sacred site where Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment. The complex includes the Bodhi Tree, the Vajrasana (Diamond Throne), and various stupas and monasteries built by different countries.

Bodhi Tree:

It is said to be a descendant of the original tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment. Pilgrims often meditate and circumambulate around the Bodhi Tree.

Great Buddha Statue:

A colossal statue of the Buddha in meditation posture, located within the Mahabodhi Temple complex. It was consecrated by the 14th Dalai Lama in 1989.

Archaeological Museum: The Archaeological Museum in Bodh Gaya houses a collection of artefacts and sculptures related to Buddhism, which provides information on the history of the region.

Royal Bhutan Monastery:

One of the many international monasteries in Bodhgaya, this monastery displays traditional Bhutanese architecture and provides a peaceful environment for meditation.

Thai Monastery (Wat Thai Bodhgaya):

Known for its beautiful architecture, Thai Monastery is a serene place with a golden statue of Buddha.

Vietnamese Temple:
